Reeling

Reeling at All Saints Community Centre

2019 in the Old Hall

Reels are Scottish dances in which couples dance with each other and with others in their set or line to music and to particular steps and turns.

An example of one of the popular reels – the foursome – is shown in the video link above.

The dances are enormous fun to learn and only get better as you go on.

Reeling is a family and community event for all ages – primary and secondary school children can take part, if accompanied by their parents.

We would encourage local schools, colleges and community groups to organise parties to come and learn the dances together.

Newcomers will be able to mix with experienced reelers and walk-throughs will be organised before we do the dances to music.

Our venue is the Old Hall at All Saints Community Centre, 105 New Cross Road, London SE14 5DJ.

The entrance is on Monson Road – the gated road next to All Saints Church – on your right approaching from New Cross Road.

Your first session will be free of charge.  Thereafter, we anticipate charging £5 for adults and £3 for children per session.  Payment can be made in cash on the day.
